Welcome to our new Spring and Summer class schedule!

Welcome to the Spring installment of Someone’s In The Kitchen cooking classes! As we begin our 29th year, we’re ready to welcome warmer weather, longer nights, and time well-spent with friends and family. This Spring, we have another great schedule of classes to inspire and motivate you to create memorable meals and celebrations with the people you love.

With a delicious variety of classes, we have you covered for the next couple of months. Look for cast iron skillet cooking, healthy Spring eating, Asian inspiration, and doughnuts made from scratch! As always, our shelves are full of great kitchen tools, gadgets, and cookware to make your culinary adventure complete. We look forward to seeing you and sharing our love of “all things food!” Oh, and share your favorite classes with a friend or two!

Tori Haudenschild | Sat, April 1 | 1-4pm | $40/with parent

This Mommy (or Daddy) and me class will teach you and your little one how to decorate cupcakes with an April Fools theme. Making sweets look like savory food will be fun and inspiring for both adults and kids alike. Chef Chris will show the class how beer isn’t only a drink to be paired with food, but how versatile it can be in all manner of food preparation, including marinating, braising and baking. This meal will be backyard cookout-themed, in preparation of our upcoming warmer weather! One sample of beer will be offered with this class. Tori Haudenschild | Wed, April 5 | 6-8:30pm | $35
Learn how to properly fill and stack a tiered cake, and decorate it! We will discuss the importance of structure for stacked cakes, techniques for decorating, and questions you may have about building a cake. During this HANDS–ON class, you will make fresh spring rolls with exciting and delicious filling combinations. Discuss how to add a little crunch to the middle. Potatoes are not off limits—it’s all the stuff we put on them that makes them hard on healthy eating. Enjoy four ways to eat potatoes without feeling guilty. As always, it’s a good healthy eating practice to bring a container for any food you choose not to eat during the class. Plan on 18 points for this class, not counting wine. Come learn to decorate custom cookies just in time for Easter! In this class, you will learn multiple techniques using royal icing. Fran Quinn | Wed,April 19 | 3-5:30pm | FREE
Are you risking your fingers trying to cut with dull knives? Make those knives sharp again! Our Wusthof representative, Fran Quinn, will be in our store to put a new edge on your dull knives and share her knowledge and passion for cutlery! Bring in up to four of your knives for free sharpening. (This free service is offered on a “first come, first served” basis. Please plan to wait while your knives are
sharpened. We cannot take drop-offs.)

Fran Quinn | Wed, April 19 | 6-8pm | $40
Fran Quinn, Wusthof cutlery expert, will teach you proper chopping, dicing, and mincing techniques. Learn basic meat carving and slicing skills as well as basic sharpening techniques, knife safety, maintenance and storage.

This class will specialize in symbolic and lucky dishes from the four main cuisine regions of China:
