Classes in our kitchen are designed to provide an atmosphere of learning and enjoyment. From our classes you’ll learn the skills, techniques, and tips for recreating recipes successfully at home. We offer a broad variety of classes including ethnic flavors, culinary training such as knife skills, creative applications with cookie and cake decorating, and advancing the use of tools and appliances in the kitchen. The class instructors are chefs from popular Rapid City and Black Hills restaurants as well as chefs from outside the region. You’ll love the energy and passion that each of our teachers bring to their cooking classes.

Wine pairing reaches new heights with this adventurous class that will focus on tasting and cooking with wine. Kara and Beth will discuss the wine used in each recipe while you enjoy samples that compliment each dish.

Join Lorraine for a delicious lunch class, filled with savory New Mexican favorites. Not a fan of spicy food? No problem! New Mexican food is flavorful but not super spicy!
Frito Pies with Red Chili Beef; Chicken Puffy Tacos; Spanish Rice; Red Chili Pork Tamales with Red Sauce
Learn how to chop, slice and dice like a chef! You will learn the chef’s pinch grip, the guide hand and how to push your chef’s knife effortlessly through vegetables. Taking basic vegetables from the whole piece to their smallest size is truly an art form. You will see the classic cuts demonstrated and then be able to practice them on a variety of vegetables and herbs. This hands-on class will give you the fundamentals on how to use a chef’s knife which is 80% of all cuts on the cutting board. These skills will add to the enjoyment of food prep and will have you feeling like a true culinary artist. Knives will be provided.
Learn the basics of royal icing and fondant for the upcoming holiday season! You'll be decorating cookies and cupcake toppers with a wide array of techniques suited for beginners. You'll learn how to make royal icing poinsettias, Christmas trees, fondant wreaths and decor!
This class was inspired by Dan Barber's book, The Third Plate. It highlights a new way of American eating, where "good farming and good food intersect". We will be using ancient grains in traditional comfort foods for healthy meals that stretch your budget and help our planet. Not only will these recipes be perfect for holiday entertaining, they'll provide a hearth healthy alternative to some of your traditional comfort foods.
Registered Dietician Tamara Henzlik will be here to answer any questions about how your diet affects your heart health, and how to include smart foods into your everyday routine.
