Classes in our kitchen are designed to provide an atmosphere of learning and enjoyment. From our classes you’ll learn the skills, techniques, and tips for recreating recipes successfully at home. We offer a broad variety of classes including ethnic flavors, culinary training such as knife skills, creative applications with cookie and cake decorating, and advancing the use of tools and appliances in the kitchen. The class instructors are chefs from popular Rapid City and Black Hills restaurants as well as chefs from outside the region. You’ll love the energy and passion that each of our teachers bring to their cooking classes.
FALL 2017 CLASSES
Take advantage of all the squash varieties we have this Autumn! This class is full of satisfying Fall recipes, complete with a seasonal cheesecake!
Summer Squash Gratin; Butternut Squash Ravioli with Sage Brown Butter and Shaved Parmesan; Saffron Risotto with Acorn Squash; Buttercup Cheesecake with Salted Caramel Drizzle
Cast iron Dutch ovens take camp cooking from “ho-hum” to “Oh Wow!” The class will prepare the entire menu on improvised campfires behind the store. Join Ben Nelson, experienced camp chef, for this great outdoor cooking adventure.
Mountain Breakfast; Peachy French Toast; Chicken Delight; Sloppy Joe Biscuit Bake; Cheese Enchiladas; Pineapple Upside-Down Cake; Raspberry Cobbler; Caramel Apple Crisp; Beer Bread; Scones
A sample of beer will be offered with this class.
Learn how to make a variety of breads that you can enjoy on their own, or as the centerpiece of your meal. We’ll be making a variety of shapes and sizes of bread to fit any meal!
Herbed Lavash; French Baguettes; Vegetable and Herb Bread
During this class, we will make three stocks/bases that you can store in the freezer to make a quick soup anytime. They consist of a cream base for that leftover chicken, beef stock to make a hearty beef barley soup, and a vegetable stock for a wonderful root soup. Vicky will demonstrate how easy it is to add a few ingredients to create a large variety of soups that are quick and easy.
Beef Stock; Cream Stock; Vegetable Stock; We will be adding a variety of ingredients to each base to show the versatility of each.
Treat yourself to recipes fit for royalty! These seafood dishes will be the perfect surprise for guests or a comfy night in by the fire.

It’s time to get festive while you feast on some German specialties!
German Potato Salad; German Sausage and Green Peppercorn Jaeger Sauce; Red Cabbage and Apples
Get ready to chop, slice, dice and more! Learn proper technique, honing & sharpening along with basic knife care in this hands on class.

Wholesome eating while managing a busy life can be tasty! Learn from Registered Dietician Helen Nichols how to incorporate some of these delicious recipes into your everyday life.

Wine pairing reaches new heights with this adventurous class that will focus on tasting and cooking with wine. Kara and Beth will discuss the wine used in each recipe while you enjoy samples that compliment each dish.

There isn’t just one way to make a meatball! We’re getting creative with meatballs inspired by regions of the World.

If you cannot attend a class you registered for, please let us know within 48 hours to receive a refund. We will give store credit for cancellations less than 48 hours in advance. We cannot refund a class missed without notification.
